Classic Strat styles with infinate options
The O.G. is the first strat I designed. Included here out of affection rather than function. The idea was to make a strat with the ultimate tone and sustain characteristics. For sustain, we made the body from 100% solid Rock Maple. Literally one of the hardest most dense domestic hardwoods available. You will fall asleep before notes finish ringing. We used Steinberger tuners to negate the need for string trees, put a recessed Floyd on it and loaded it with fishman Fluence pickups. As for tone, it doesn't get any better. As far as weight... it almost to heavy to sit and play it. I would caution against building another one unless you hire a guy to hold it for you while you play. But when you do, the Eric Johnson neck profile will make it a dream.
The Fender Custom Shop built the 75th Anniversary White and Gold but they didn't make 'em with a Floyd, and they didn't offer Fluence so the OG became the RBG Serial Number 1. The guitar that made me realize "If you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself".
Not every good idea pans out but pound for pound the OG was a lesson learned. It's been discontinued but if your REALLY have the lower back strength....
